Start of Month 10 and I’m feeling great!

Hi Everyone!

I feel so much better on the inside now! The outside still looks dry and patchy but it is not burning, red or inflamed in anyway. I get itchy if I sweat so I still exercise with breaks in between to avoid sweating but other than that I am living pretty normally! Here’s a video update letting you know how I am going.

Much love,
Ruby Red xx

  1. SOOOO glad to see and hear that you are doing well! My son is doing great going into month 10, as well, and he just had his first sleepover at a friend’s house last night. We didn’t even think twice about his skin care. I’m sure your video gives hope and encouragement to other TSWers out there. This dark tunnel doesn’t go on forever; head towards the light ๐Ÿ™‚

Wishing you continued healing and happier, healthier days ahead!

    • So happy to hear Brian is also going well! Must be lovely to see him active and able to play in the pool etc!

  2. Hi ruby red
I’ve had really bad eczema for 40years and I’m finally going cold turkey Tsw. I’m on day 4 and my face is swollen, red, dry, flaky and very sore. I’m trying to cover it with minerals make up as I’m a nurse and to have patients and families staring at me is so embarrassing, I just want to ur and hide away..
Can I ask what emollient if any did you use whilst your face was at this stage? I’m scared to put anything on incase it makes it far worse.

    Fab videos thanx for updating.

    • Hi Claire! I used hemp balm (hemp oil and beeswax) for the first 5 weeks and then didn’t use anything on my face for the next nine months. Now I use a very light covering of lemongrass moisturiser when I get out of the shower (only on my face, arms and neck). I still only shower once or twice a week though. I have no inflammation now which is why it feels ok to put a little bit on. You just need to try different things and find a routine that is the most comfortable to you! Moisturiser Withdrawal probably won’t suit you if you’re trying to use makeup and and/or look presentable for work. My skin had a very flaky appearance for months – but I found it far less itchy and inflamed when I didn’t use an emollient or moisturiser.

      Hope this helps!

  3. Just found your blog recently and read through your story. I am nearly 5 months into withdrawal and really look forward to life again. Your passion for life just oozes through your blog posts – in the care you take in the food you eat, the things you do, and the smiles! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Hi Ruby
